Assistant Professor of Business Administration (Non-Tenure)

Position Information

Texas Lutheran University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, instructional faculty position in Business Administration. The position begins August 2024. The ideal candidate should have the ability to teach economics courses in-person, online, and in hybrid environments. Candidates with prior teaching experience and evidence of teaching success will be given high priority. TLU is a teaching-focused institution that offers select graduate degrees. It is expected that the ideal candidate will be able and qualified to teach economics courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Requirements for the position include:

- Master’s in Business, with the academic qualifications (18 hours in the economics subject area) to teach economics courses or in a closely related field

- Ph.D. (ABD considered with assurance of completion no later than August 15, 2024) in economics- preferred but not required

- Interest in teaching a variety of business and economics courses

- Experience teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in business and economics

- Expertise in, or willingness to engage in online, asynchronous teaching

- Commitment to excellence in the teaching and advisement of undergraduate and graduate students

- Strong organizational skills

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Ability to teach classes online, nights, and weekends

- Work collegially with other faculty members in the department and across campus

- Understand and support of the mission of Texas Lutheran University

The candidate’s responsibilities include:

- Teaching a four-four load (fall, spring, summer availability a plus)

- Assisting the department chair in hiring and mentoring adjunct faculty and course staffing

- Providing contact to newly admitted students and engaging in recruitment efforts for the department

- Advising students

- Other duties as needed

This is a 9-month, on-campus faculty position in Seguin, Texas which requires teaching economics courses in the BBA, teaching courses in the MBA program, and teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in a variety of instructional modalities.
