Assistant/Associate Professor in Communication Studies
Department of Communication, Cultures, English, & World Languages at Texas Lutheran University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Communication Studies at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The appointment will begin in August 2026.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Communication, Communication Studies, or a closely related field (completed by or before Fall 2026). ABD candidates will be considered if their degree will be completed by August 2026.
- Demonstrated potential for effective teaching across the undergraduate communication curriculum, from the basic course to senior capstone.
Preferred Qualifications
- A record of scholarship and research.
- Experience with one or more approaches to qualitative research.
- Experience teaching or researching multiple of the following areas: social media/internet studies, public relations/leadership/social change studies, or cultural/intercultural studies.
- Experience with course and curriculum design, online/hybrid teaching, or community engaged learning.
- Ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary department.
Department Overview
The Department of Communication, Cultures, English, & World Languages is an interdisciplinary department which includes faculty and majors in Communication, English, and Spanish. It also houses the Mexican American Studies and Public Relations minors, as well as the Composition program.
