Director for Admissions

Texas Lutheran University invites applications for the position of Director for Admissions. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all on- and off-campus recruitment efforts for undergraduate students. The Director provides strategic leadership to the admissions recruiting team, manages recruitment operations and travel, and plays a central role in shaping the university’s enrollment strategy.

This position collaborates closely with campus partners, including Financial Aid, Marketing & Communications, and academic leadership, to ensure a coordinated and data-informed approach to student recruitment and enrollment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership, mentorship, and direction to the admissions recruiting team, fostering a student-centered and access-driven recruitment philosophy. 
  • Oversee the holistic application review process to ensure efficiency, consistency, and alignment with institutional enrollment goals. 
  • Develop and manage recruitment territories and execute a comprehensive recruitment plan, including oversight of travel and budget allocations. 
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management for admissions representatives. 
  • Manage day-to-day operations of first-year recruitment, including oversight of campus visitation programs. 
  • Serve as a key partner in optimizing the university’s CRM (Technolutions Slate), including application processing, communication workflows, and data reporting. 
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute integrated recruitment marketing strategies across digital, print, and web platforms. 
  • Work closely with campus stakeholders—including Athletics, Academic Affairs, Student Financial Services, Student Affairs, and the Registrar—to align recruitment strategies and improve processes. 
  • Partner with Financial Aid leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive financial aid communication plan. 
  • Promote a culture of data-informed decision-making using enrollment and financial aid metrics. 
  • Represent the university at on- and off-campus events, including high school visits, college fairs, and community engagements. 
  • Manage an assigned recruitment territory and actively engage with prospective students, families, and counselors. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Six(6) years or more of experience in college admissions or enrollment management, including supervisory experience. 
  • Strong understanding of current admissions trends and strategies, particularly within small, private institutions. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and meet enrollment goals. 
  • Experience with CRM systems; familiarity with Technolutions Slate preferred. 
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Experience in a private, faith-based institution is preferred, but not required.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based with a standard indoor work environment. 
  • Regular evening and weekend responsibilities. 
  • Overnight travel required.
