Graduate Applications

Applying as a Graduate Student

TLU offers five graduate programs led by faculty who work at the main campus in Seguin. Of the five programs, two are 100% online – the MBA and the Master of Arts in Education. The Master of Science in Data Analytics has an online track for Business Analytics and an in-person Technology & Computation track. The Master of Athletic Training and Master of Accountancy are both on-campus programs.

Are You a Graduate Student or Transfer Student?

To apply as a graduate student, you must hold a bachelor’s degree or be in-progress to complete it before you begin classes. If you will not have a bachelor’s degree prior to enrolling, you will need to apply as a transfer student.

About our Graduate Programs

Our graduate programs have different admissions criteria and requirements, application deadlines, term starts, and costs. Please refer to each graduate program’s web page for details on admissions criteria, deadlines, and costs.

Master of Accountancy (MAcy): This program has two entry paths for applicants:

  • Current TLU Students: The MAcy is designed as a five-year, concurrent program for TLU students who want to graduate with both a B.B.A. and a Master of Accountancy. Current TLU students have a different application process than direct entry students so please contact David Thomas or the MAcy program director for more information on how to apply as a current TLU student.
  • Direct Entry Students: Applicants who already hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university may apply for admission to the MAcy program. If the applicant’s bachelor’s degree is not equivalent to a B.B.A. in accounting, the applicant must complete certain additional courses. In some circumstances, other courses may be necessary to meet CPA exam eligibility requirements.

Master of Athletic Training (MAT): This program has two entry paths for applicants:

  • Current TLU Students: Traditional college freshmen can earn concurrent degrees in five years – a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Athletic Training upon graduation. Current TLU students have a different application process than direct entry students so please contact David Thomas or the MAT program director, Dr. Brian Coulombe, for more information on how to apply as a current TLU student.
  • Direct Entry Students: Students who already hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university can apply directly to the MAT program as a graduate student.
  • Anyone interested in TLU's MAT program must complete their application using the Athletic Training Centralized Application System (ATCAS) and not the Graduate Student Application.

Master of Business Administration (MBA): The 100% online MBA is designed for busy working professionals who already hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and meet the program’s admissions requirements.

Master of Science in Data Analytics (MSDA): The M.S. in Data Analytics features an online track in Business Analytics and an in-person track in Technology & Computation. Candidates must already hold a bachelor’s degree and meet the program’s admissions requirements. There are two entry paths for applicants:

  • Current TLU Students: The M.S. in Data Analytics is designed as a five-year concurrent program for TLU students who are graduating with a Bachelor of Business (any specialization) + the M.S. in Data Analytics or TLU students who will earn a Bachelor of Science in Math, Computer Science, or Information Systems + the M.S. in Data Analytics. Current TLU students have a different application process than direct entry students so please contact David Thomas or the MSDA program director, Dr. Jesus Carmona, for more information on how to apply as a current TLU student.
  • Direct Entry Students: Applicants who already hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university can apply directly to the M.S. Data Analytics program as a graduate student. Note: The Master of Science in Data Analytics (MSDA) program, including the program specializations, courses offered, and the prerequisite courses required, are under review.
