Registration & Schedules
The CMA Summer Strings and Choral Camp will be held July 11-15, 2022 at TLU in the Schuech Fine Arts Building. The camp is open to all students who will be entering the 2nd - 6th grades, including new beginners as well as current CMA students. String Camp (Violin, Viola, Cello) takes place from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., and Choir Camp takes place from 1:30-5 p.m. Students may attend both camps. No lunch will be provided, but students participating in both camps may bring a sack lunch to eat between camps in a supervised area of the building.
Registration for Summer Camp will open April 18, 2022. Students may also register for private string lessons beginning May 1. Please visit our private lessons page at for more information and to register.
Any student entering 6th grade (with one year of experience) through 12th grade should consider registering for the TLU Summer Music Academy (June 26-July 1) which focuses on older students with some experience. For more information click here.
Program Cost & Instrument Rental
Cost of the camp is $100. Students who are currently enrolled in the Outreach Level 1 Violin, Cello, or Beginning Choir class will receive a $50 discount. Families NOT enrolled in one of the classes mentioned above may apply a sibling discount of $25 off, after the first child is registered for the full cost of $100. Rental instruments will be available for a cost of $20 for the week.
Lessons & Activities
String students will be grouped to appropriate levels and will be introduced to the basics of playing the instrument, learning music to be performed at the end of the week, as well as fun and educational enrichment activities. Students are under supervision throughout the camp day.
Choral students will be introduced to proper singing technique and will also learn pieces to be performed at the end of the week. Additional enrichment activities will be included throughout the day. Students are under supervision throughout the camp day.
