RSVP Volunteer Coordinator for Guadalupe County

Texas Lutheran University invites applications for a part time RSVP Volunteer Coordinator for Guadalupe County. The part time RSVP Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating RSVP America Reads Volunteers in Guadalupe County. This is a grant-funded position. Continuation is contingent upon funds availability each year.

Responsibilities include: 

  1. Coordinate the RSVP America Reads Program in all targeted schools in Guadalupe County. 
  2. Interact with public schools and school districts to recruit participation in the America Reads program 
  3. Provide information and guidance to the participating schools, school representatives, and teachers regarding America Reads program standards and requirements. 
  4. Educate non-profit and governmental agencies, residents, and state and local officials regarding the services of RSVP and America Reads. 
  5. Present information about the America Reads program, as requested. 
  6. Build strong networking relationships with community non-profit and governmental agencies, groups and clubs, and media resources. 
  7. Assist the RSVP Director with service projects, as needed. 
  8. Develop and implement a volunteer recruitment plan based on RSVP grant objectives. 
  9. Attend community events such as health/information fairs, open house, mixers and networking/collaboration meetings. 
  10. Provide special project/individual placement assistance for current and newly recruited volunteers. Maintain on-going communication with participating schools and with volunteers to ensure mutual satisfaction. 
  11. Work with the RSVP Records Manager to maintain program documentation and volunteer data files. 
  12. Follow up with volunteers and stations that are not showing activity. 
  13. Attend professional development workshops, conferences and trainings. 
  14. Participate in on-going skill enhancement and professional growth activities. 
  15. Attend staff meetings, advisory council meetings and hearings of funders. 
  16. Understand and support the mission of Texas Lutheran University

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or two years’ experience in marketing, program administration, service delivery, or volunteer administration. 
  • Minimum one-year experience; two years preferred. 
  • Proficiency in MS Word and internet navigation 
  • Functional understanding of non-profit organizations and service delivery/funding correlation. 
  • Positive vision and action oriented 
  • Comfortable in a leadership role, skilled in motivating people, enjoy networking/relationship building and goal/task oriented.

Administrative Assistant for Student Activities and First Year & Campus Programs

Texas Lutheran University seeks applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant for the Student Activities and First Year & Campus Programs department of the Student Life & Learning Division. This position provides a variety of administrative support services to the Director of Student Activities & Director of First Year and Campus Programs. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Provide administrative support to the Student Activities and First Year & Campus Programs; 
  • Ability to work independently as well as to function effectively and collaboratively in a team environment; 
  • Receive telephone calls, greet visitors, provide information as appropriate, and schedule appointments for Student Activities and First Year & Campus Programs; 
  • Use Meeting Room Manager to book Alumni Student Center and Jackson Park facilities; 
  • Maintain database of students’ extra-curricular activities; 
  • Assist with event planning (i.e., Orientation, Weeks of Welcome, various seasonal events); 
  • Maintain and update Bulldog TV, the University Calendar (updating Portal calendar as needed); 
  • Maintain budget report for all areas and maintains records of income and expenses; 
  • Ability to monitor, analyze, consult, and report on programs and services; 
  • Assist with selection, training, and supervision of student workers; 
  • Understanding and support of the mission of Texas Lutheran University;

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Training beyond high school or equivalent program with emphasis on secretarial skills preferred; 
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience; 
  • Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, maintain confidentiality, keyboard and computer proficiency, effective organizational and planning skills.

Admissions Data Analyst (Part TIme)

Texas Lutheran University invites applications for a part time Admissions Data Analyst. The part time Admissions Data Analyst is responsible for data imports (electronic and manual entry) and data integrity for prospective student data using the Office of Admissions’ CRM, Technolutions Slate. The data analyst will report directly to the Associate Director for Admissions Information Systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Data entry and data integrity using the Admissions’ CRM, Technolutions Slate.
  • Provides back-up support to the Senior Data Analyst who manages all applicant information.
  • Reviews data from Slate form submissions.
  • Enters data from printed inquiry cards.
  • Runs daily audit queries to look for data discrepancies or inaccuracies.
  • Scans and processes hard copy and electronic documents.
  • Demonstrates knowledge or ability to learn Admissions operations and cycles.
  • Works with minimal supervision but knows when to ask questions and assist others.
  • Works as a team player, supporting and assisting other Admissions staff members.
  • Assists with visitors and phones as needed.
  • Understand and support the mission of Texas Lutheran University.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, with advanced training and/or technological experience preferred.
  • Must have at least 2 years of database/CRM experience and be familiar and comfortable with technology and using multiple software systems. Higher education experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent time management skills; must be a self-starter.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
