Administrative Assistant for Residence Life

Texas Lutheran University is seeking applicants for an Administrative Assistant for Residence Life. This full-time position provides the Director of Residence Life with clerical support and assists in the coordination of the various programs within the Residence Life office.

Position requirements include:

  • Associate degree in a technical or administrative program, or 18-36 months of equivalent experience
  • One to three years of experience
  • Knowledge of procedures and practices in a specialty or technical field of advanced skill such as computer programming, electronic technology, or office administration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English grammar
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong computer skills to include word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • 60 wpm typing/keyboard skills with 90% accuracy
  • Standard clerical skills
  • Considerable judgment is required
  • Ability to supervise student workers
  • Ability to make decisions guided by precedent and university policies
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Understanding of and appreciation for a church-related university

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

Texas Lutheran University has an opening for a dependable individual to work full-time in our Maintenance department.Position requirements include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One to three years in institutional maintenance or related field
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for 90% of the shift, and work on elevated surfaces and in confined spaces
  • A valid Texas driver’s license
  • Own personal hand tools, be able to respond within 20 minutes to service calls during off-duty hours, and work overtime as needed
  • Appropriate workplace communication skills
  • HVAC EPA Certification
  • Understanding of and appreciation for a church-related university

The Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, locking system, and HVAC.

Assistant to Director of Auxiliary Services

Texas Lutheran University is seeking applicants for an Assistant to Director of Auxiliary Services.This full-time position assists the Director of Auxiliary Services with basic administrative retail duties pertaining to the University Bookstore.

Position requirements include:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • One to three years of retail experience with preference in knowledge of visual merchandising practices
  • Cash handling experience with preference in point-of-sale systems experience.
  • Preferred to have basic accounting or bookkeeping experience or an aptitude for numbers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to analyze facts and circumstances to determine appropriate action to be taken within the limits of standard practice.Some independent judgment is required.
  • Ability to stay focused on details
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Possess relationship building and influential skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Overtime may be required during peak periods
  • Understanding of and appreciation for a church-related university
