Women's History Month

During Women's History Month in March, TLU celebrates the stories of women throughout history. We learn about women who blazed trails in the arts, education, business, and social movements, as well as those who contributed to their families and communities in less visible ways. We acknowledge the unfair structures that have often held women back. Historian Gerda Lerner was one of the organizers of the first Women’s History Week in 1980, which became Women’s History Month in 1987. International Women's Day is recognized every year on March 8.
