Meet the Admissions Representatives

At Texas Lutheran University, the enrollment services staff is dedicated to helping you through the admissions and financial aid processes. Our counselors serve specific geographical areas so that they can give you the personal one-on-one support you deserve.

Adam Navarro-Jusino 

Director for Admissions Operations and Marketing

A native of Puerto Rico, Adam grew up in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania and holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Lock Haven University. Adam has served in various higher education roles for 11 years, five of which have been at TLU. When he’s not in the office, Adam enjoys finding new and exciting adventures with his wife and two boxers, Princess Charlotte Louise and Henry Patton.

Adam works with freshman and transfer international students.

Alecia McCain '08

Director for Admissions Recruiting

Alecia is a TLU alumna who joined the admissions team nine years ago. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from TLU and a master of education degree from Texas State University. She is passionate about education, is certified to teach in Texas and loves guiding students through the college enrollment process. On the weekends you can find Alecia spending time with her family and cheering on the Houston Astros.

Alecia works with students attending high school in the West Texas and Panhandle regions, as well as students attending high school out of state.

Elliott Powell

Associate Director for Transfer and Graduate Admissions

Elliott received a bachelor’s degree in business management before earning his master’s degree in college counseling and student development. Prior to TLU, he worked in student life as a transfer coordinator, planning transfer orientation and social events for transfer students. He also worked as a snorkel guide on Maui and prefers to be in water rather than on land.

Elliott works with domestic transfer, graduate, and students enrolling in the spring semester.

Joy Cronin

Associate Director for Admissions

Joy earned her bachelor’s degree in business in 2003 and her master’s degree in adult education in 2010. She has experience in both academic affairs and admissions. She has worked at both Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio, and Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, West Virginia. Joy appreciates time spent outdoors, and in her spare time you can often find her kayaking on the Guadalupe River or golfing on a local golf course.

Joy works with high school students from the Austin/Central Texas area as well as Comal and New Braunfels ISDs.

Leah Williams

Assistant Director for Admissions

Leah joined the admissions team in July 2017. Originally from Austin, Texas, Leah received a bachelor’s degree in international relations and a minor in French from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. After working in admissions in north Texas for four years, Leah is excited to have made her way home to the Hill Country. The mom of one fur-baby, Leah can most often be found paddling her kayak around the Guadalupe River or Lake Austin with her pup, Bobo.

Leah works with San Antonio students attending high school in the following ISDs: Alamo Heights, Fort Sam Houston, Judson, North East, Northside, and Randolph Field. She is also the representative for the following Guadalupe County ISDs: Navarro, Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City, Seguin and Lifegate Chrisitan High School.

Jeremy Curtis

Admissions Representative

Jeremy is from Allen, Texas, and holds a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Angelo State University. Prior to TLU, Jeremy worked in residence life for three years and financial aid for two years. He is a competitive travel volleyball player who loves new adventures just as much as he loves the beach and blue waters.

Jeremy works with students attending high school in Houston and the surrounding area, East Texas, and the Gulf Coast.

Melanie Theriault

Admissions Representative

Melanie holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology with English and Spanish minors from Southwestern University. As an undergraduate, she worked as an admissions ambassador, resident assistant, and writing center consultant. A native of Friendswood, Texas, she enjoys hiking, yoga, and creating art with her collection of colored pencils and variety of paints.

Melanie works with San Antonio students attending high school in the following ISDs: East Central, Edgewood, Harlandale, Lackland, San Antonio, South San Antonio, Southside, and Southwest. She is also the representative for students attending high school in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
