When Joshua Stanton took an internship at CMC in Seguin last summer, he didn’t realize it would lead to a full-time job after graduation. “I was a finance intern, and I did not know I wanted to continue working there,” Stanton admits. But toward the end of that summer, he was feeling comfortable, both in his surroundings and in his job working with cost management.
The December ’24 grad, a Houston native who came to TLU to play football and because he was drawn to the small class sizes, concurrently earned both his undergrad business degree and his Master of Science in Business Analytics—a five-year program at TLU. “I needed an edge in the real world and pursuing my master’s would separate me from my competitors,” Stanton says.
He was proved right about that edge. CMC hired him straight out of college, and he now works as a financial analyst for the company. “I feel that the MSBA did just that. I have no regrets and am thankful I chose this route.”
For others considering the MSBA path, he has a few words of advice: “Stay persistent. It’s worth the extra effort.”
CMC has a long history of supporting TLU. William “Bill” Vanderwaal, the company’s director of operations, serves on the u

niversity’s Business Advisory Council. Many TLU graduates have found career opportunities with CMC over the years.
TLU’s MSBA degree program is fully online, flexible, and offers fall and spring start dates. It can be completed by current TLU students who would like to combine it with their undergraduate degree, or can be undertaken by applicants who already hold a bachelor’s degree.
