2025 Texas Honors Institute: TLU Welcomes Phi Theta Kappa

Texas Lutheran University is pleased to welcome members of Phi Theta Kappa to campus for the Texas Honors Institute July 11–13!

Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for two-year community and technical colleges, has been dedicated to promoting student achievement since 1918. Members are provided with opportunities to cultivate professional and leadership skills through programs like Texas Honors Institute. The society also helps its members explore career paths, secure scholarships, and build professional networks.

Some 125 students will spend three days on campus at TLU, where they will hear from speakers, participate in panel discussions, and connect with other members. This year’s theme is “Rewrite the Stars: Your Story, Your Stage,” and in addition to learning opportunities, the weekend offers plenty of fun and fellowship, including movie and game nights.

For two-year college students who plan to pursue a degree from a four-year university, TLU welcomes transfer students and is committed to easing the transfer process through such initiatives as its partnership with San Antonio’s Alamo Colleges District, offering scholarships and credit for courses completed. Students wishing to transfer to TLU are welcome to attend the Transfer Days event on July 19 and should apply for admission no later than August 1 for the fall 2025 semester.
