Parents Of Athletic Recruits

Information and resources for parents of athletic recruits

What Does It Mean To Be An NCAA Division III Student-Athlete?

As the parent of a talented student-athlete, you are no doubt very proud of their achievements, both on and off the field. At TLU, it's a privilege and an amazing opportunity to be part of one of our 19 intercollegiate teams, and your student-athlete's success in the classroom is just as important to us as success on the court or the field.

Our goal for all student-athletes is to receive an affordable, top-rated education while also realizing their goal of playing collegiate sports.

Bulldog Athletics is home to national champions, All-Americans, conference titles, and much more. We are proud to say our athletic success is paired right along side our academic success and the overall TLU experience. TLU is a community in every sense of the word and being the parent of an athlete gives you a glimpse into how special and transformative competing at the college can be.

Scholarships & Financial Aid

While we do not offer athletics scholarships as a DIII university, we do believe all students should be able to afford a small, private college experience.

First-year students who apply for the 2024-2025 academic year and are admitted are eligible to receive academic scholarships ranging from $20,000 per year ($80,000 over four years) up to $25,000 per year ($100,000 over four years). We can proudly say that 100% of admitted students receive some type of merit-based, academic scholarship.
