Winter Weather Advisory

Monday, February 22, 2021: UPDATE 7:45 AM

Campus is back to normal operations today and all in-person and online classes will resume as normal. Students and staff who are still be having difficulties at home with power, water, or internet service should contact their faculty or supervisor respectively to discuss options.

The facilities staff has made several passes through campus buildings and addressed the most critical problems but it is quite likely that there may be residual maintenance issues needing their attention. Your patience is appreciated as they work through them.

Wednesday, February 17, 2021: UPDATE 4:00 PM

After reviewing the overall situation, including another night of freezing precipitation but also factoring unpredictable power/internet/water outages that are continuing to impact TLU faculty, staff and students, we are announcing that, both the Seguin and New Braunfels campuses will be closed Thursday and Friday for both face-to-face and online classes and activities. The one exception is the virtual winter meeting of the TLU Board of Regents is still on the schedule for tomorrow and Friday. Any changes in that schedule will be communicated separately.

As of this time, weekend events (not already canceled) and Monday classes are anticipated to be open and back to regular schedule.

As a reminder:

  • All campus buildings with the exception of Hein and the ASC will be closed.

Tuesday, February 16, 2021: UPDATE 4:30 PM

Because of continued freezing temperatures forecast for overnight making roads and walkways hazardous, along with rolling power blackouts across our region tomorrow, both the Seguin and New Braunfels campuses will be closed again Wednesday for both face-to-face and online classes and activities. We are hopeful that we can resume most activities on Thursday but that will depend on the conditions as we see them tomorrow afternoon.

As a reminder:

  • All campus buildings with the exception of Hein and the ASC will be closed.
