Together Through Music: TLU Faculty Chamber Music Recital February 1

The community is in for an afternoon of beautiful music on Sunday, February 1, when musicians from Texas Lutheran University’s faculty come together for a Faculty Chamber Music Recital.

The event will feature such pieces as Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet in A Major, and Dvorak’s Piano Quintet No. 2 in A Major. Musicians include TLU faculty members Tyler Webster, Clarinet; SungEun Park, piano; Eric Siu, violin; Eliza Jeffords, viola; and Elizabeth Lee, cello. They will be joined by special guest violinist Joseph Kneer, a member of the faculty at Trinity University.

“In moments like this, in our busy lives, music gives us a reason to slow down and be in the same room for a while, without checking our phones or nonstop emails,” says Dr. SungEun Park, pianist and assistant professor in the university’s School of Music. “I feel humble and grateful to be part of a team of incredible, caring musicians who share that joy every time we perform together. Through this recital, we hope to invite our community to gather, share, and enjoy that same sense of connection. Being together through music reminds us how meaningful it is to simply be present with one another.”

The recital takes place on Sunday, February 1, at 3 p.m. in Ayers Recital Hall in the university’s Schuech Fine Arts Center. This event is free and open to the public.
