TLU Officially Opens Houston Nursing Campus

With the purpose of extending its academic excellence and commitment to lifelong learning in the Houston area, Texas Lutheran University opened the doors to its Houston nursing campus earlier this week. The grand opening was commemorated with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house where staff, faculty, students, and their families had the opportunity to tour the new facility located in northwest Houston.

The ceremony was attended by TLU President Dr. Debbie Cottrell, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Sarah Ferguson, Director of Nursing Dr. Amie Bedgood, Assistant Director of Nursing and Houston Campus Executive Dr. E’Loria Simon-Campbell, Campus Pastor The Rev. Wes Cain, Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod, ELCA Bishop The Rev. Michael Rinehart, and Synergis Education CEO Mr. Norm Allgood.

“Establishing a presence in Houston is the right thing for TLU to do for many reasons, but it all starts with the alignment of our nursing program with TLU’s mission”, said TLU President Dr. Debbie Cottrell. “We are committed to training, teaching, and graduating extremely well-qualified nurses who join their profession with confidence while also bringing a servant’s heart to their work.”
