Texas Lutheran University is again one of the nation’s great colleges to work for according to a survey by ModernThink, marking the university’s 10th appearance on the Great Colleges to Work For® list.
“The consistency with which TLU has received this recognition is a real tribute to the commitment of our staff and faculty,” TLU President Dr. Debbie Cottrell said. “Being a Great College to Work For is an honor, and the areas we are being recognized in align well with our priorities as an institution. TLU is one of only 72 colleges recognized as a 2021 “Great College to Work For.” For 2021, TLU won honors in four categories:
- Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging
- Shared Governance
- Confidence in Senior Leadership
- Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness
For the first time, ModernThink included a category and designation for Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging at participating universities. This recognition category is reserved for program participants who are demonstrating an institutionalized commitment to diversity, as reported through the experiences of faculty and staff. It is based on measures of individual experiences of inclusion and belonging, as well as measures of the impact of institutional diversity policies and procedures.
The GCTWF survey is one of the largest and most respected workplace recognition programs in the country. Now in its 14th year, it recognizes colleges that get top ratings from their employees regarding workplace practices and policies. Results are reported for small, medium, and large institutions, with TLU included among the small universities with 2,999 students or fewer.
