Inspiring Others to Think Big: TLU Welcomes New Associate Director of Graduate Admissions Amber Carlton

Texas Lutheran University has named Amber Carlton as its new Associate Director of Graduate Admissions.

"I am excited to welcome Amber to TLU and our enrollment team,” said Vice President for Enrollment Alecia McCain. “Her energy and commitment to serving students and the business partners will have a meaningful impact on our students and community."

“TLU represents a meaningful opportunity for growth, both in higher education and as an individual,” Carlton said. “My purpose in life is to inspire others to think big, pursue their dreams, and become the best versions of themselves. One of the most powerful ways to ignite that passion is through higher education. I believe in the core values of TLU — education, community, and faith—and these pillars have personally served as my North Star. I feel especially fortunate to live out and reflect these values in my vocation.”

Carlton holds a BS in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and a MS in Organizational Leadership, both from Southern New Hampshire University, and is in the process of earning her Doctor of Business Administration and Organizational Psychology from National University.

In her new position, she will oversee all aspects of graduate enrollment, work to expand TLU’s graduate programs, and guide students through the process of pursuing their professional goals, from charting their path, to enrollment and admission to their chosen program. She will also be working to build and develop strategic connections with community and industry partners and support the development of agreements with business partners to ensure their employees have access to graduate programs.

“We are thrilled to have someone with Amber's professional background and vision on the TLU team,” said Dr. Mark Peacock, associate professor of business and director of the university’s MBA program. “Amber actively served on our Business Advisory Council, helping ensure our business curriculum aligns with industry needs. She is uniquely gifted in building bridges and developing relationships in our community.”

“As the Associate Director of Graduate Admissions, I have the honor of advocating for individuals and professionals who are investing in themselves through higher education,” said Carlton. “This is one of the greatest gifts, and it’s why I’m excited to be at TLU. I look forward to connecting with faculty, colleagues, and students, and to building lifelong friendships and relationships as we come alongside learners to create the best possible learning experience.”
