TLU is going to miss Cody Mazzurana. The Bulldog alum has been working as assistant registrar of curriculum and transfers at his alma mater, overseeing transfer work entry and assisting with academic advising. But this summer, he’s headed to Abilene, Texas, where he will be stepping into a new role as director of academic advising at McMurry University. “I will oversee the advising efforts of the university, train faculty and staff advisors, work with incoming first-year and transfer students, and implement an assessment plan for the advising process at McMurry,” he says.
Mazzurana earned his undergraduate degree in business administration with a focus in management in 2024, and his MBA with a focus in change management and business analytics in 2025.
He says earning his master’s has helped him to progress in his field. “My MBA has helped me grow within the higher education industry by being able to use skills that I learned in the program, such as working with and understanding data, making informed decisions, being a change agent, and understanding the management decision process.”
He believes the TLU MBA program is set apart from others in part because of the connections students build within their cohorts—connections with both TLU faculty members and with fellow students.
Mazzurana says being an involved student during his years at TLU, through things like joining campus organizations, helped to prepare him for leadership positions like the one he’ll take on at McMurry.
TLU wishes him success in this new chapter!
