Donor Spotlight: Emanuel's Lutheran Church of Seguin

For many years, Emanuel’s Lutheran Church in Seguin has supported the Lutheran Advantage Scholarship (LAS) for students.

Since TLU provides an educational experience that addresses the whole person – body, mind, and spirit while building on the Lutheran ideals of vocation and service, the LAS is designed to offer highly qualified Lutheran students the opportunity to continue their education in a challenging and nurturing faith-based environment. Students who qualify will receive a scholarship in the amount of $1,000.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants should list church affiliation on their application for admission.
  • Freshmen and transfer students are eligible to receive the scholarship.
  • This scholarship will be combined with the student's academic scholarships and performance award if applicable.
  • The scholarship is renewable for up to an additional four years, provided the student maintains a 2.0 GPA.

About Emanuel’s Lutheran Church

A Message From Senior Pastor Rev. Marcus Bigott & Associate Pastor Rev. Kelsie Theiss

The congregation at Emanuel’s Lutheran Church welcomes all to come and join in worship and praise of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Sunday worship service follows a liturgy, a rhythmic pattern of worship, but celebrates a great deal of variety in musical expression.

Ushers and Greeters are available at the church entrance to answer any questions. Please take time after the service to say hello to the pastor over a cup of coffee with a cookie at the hospitality cart. You are welcome to join us at any of the events mentioned in the bulletin. We are a family, and there is always room to pull up another chair at the table.

Our church is a place for all generations to learn, grow, and encounter Christ’s love. The Pray Ground, located in the chapel, is a special area for our kindergarten through 2nd grade learners, and their families, to move, play, and be a part of the overall worship experience. In addition, there is a nursery for infants to four-years-old to move and play, just down from our sanctuary, that is professionally staffed every Sunday.

For those who have limitations with mobility, our church is accessible via wheelchair ramps, at our main entrance on Travis Street and our side entrance on Gonzalez Street. An elevator is also available at our Mountain Street entrance for access to our Church Offices, our ministry partners’ offices, and our education wing. There are reserved seating areas throughout the sanctuary for those in wheelchairs. Hearing Enhancement Devices are also available for worship services.

This is an exciting time to be a part of Emanuel’s! We are a congregation embracing all that God is up to in this community and we are re-discovering our own call to ministry and mission in the Seguin community.
