Community Income Tax Clinic Begins Feb. 1

Drive-thru Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) clinics will be offered from February 1, 2023 through April 15, 2023 on Wednesdays from 5 - 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the Beck Center parking lot. Assistance is provided on a first-come, first-served basis and there are no appointments available. Please note there are no clinics March 11-19 since TLU will be closed for Spring Break.

Taxpayers should bring all tax forms, a photo ID, and Social Security cards for everyone on the return, including dependents.

The IRS's VITA program has operated for more than 50 years and offers free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals including:

  • People who generally make $57,000 or less
  • Persons with disabilities; and
  • Limited English-speaking taxpayers

While the IRS manages the VITA program, VITA sites are managed by IRS partners and staffed by their volunteers who want to make a difference in their communities. The IRS-certified volunteers who provide tax counseling are often retired individuals associated with nonprofit organizations that receive grants from the IRS.

VITA services are not only free, they are also a reliable and trusted source for preparing tax returns. All VITA volunteers who prepare returns must take and pass tax law training that meets or exceeds IRS standards.
