Annual Scholarship Program Directly Benefits Students

The Annual Scholarship Fund provides important opportunities for students, and often makes the difference as to whether or not they can attend TLU. With more than 95 percent of students receiving financial aid, annual scholarship donations pave the way for all current Bulldogs to receive the same outstanding education and experiences as the generations before them.
Now, in addition to endowed scholarships, the Office of Development and Alumni Relations is launching the Annual Scholarship Program, creating a way for donors to provide immediate support to a student’s financial aid package.

With a minimum gift of $2,500 per year and a promise to fund the scholarship for at least four years, TLU will recognize a scholarship by letting the donor name it. The donor will also receive meaningful student communications and invitations to special celebratory events. Multi-year pledges also provide financial aid stability for students to continue pursuing their education. Additionally, these gifts will be awarded in the year they are donated, allowing TLU the ability to immediately impact students.

“We believe all students who want a small, private college experience should be able to afford that experience,” Jena McKinzie, associate vice president for development and alumni relations, said. “When considering TLU, many of our prospective students and their parents are comparing our cost of attendance to public universities in our area. The scholarships we are able to offer because of the annual scholarship program will make TLU a competitive, and sometimes even more affordable, option compared to the larger public universities.”
