Every year, the Seguin Gazette honors a special few of our community’s hometown heroes with the Mary Lee Roberts Citizen of the Year and VISION (Volunteers In Service In Our Neighborhoods) Awards. Recipients are chosen based upon acts of kindness and service that significantly improve the community.
This year, TLU Alum Rev. Marcus Biggot ’03 was the recipient of the Mary Lee Roberts Citizen of the Year award. Pastor Marcus, who serves as senior pastor at Emanuel’s Lutheran Church, won the award for his service to the community through his church, the Seguin Chamber of Commerce, the Blue Santa Program, and many more. He serves on several organizational boards and committees, including as chair-elect of the Seguin Chamber of Commerce, and he regularly contributes guest columns to the Seguin Gazette, offering thoughtful reflections for the broader community.
A big Bulldog round of applause for Pastor Marcus! Thank you for putting so much good out into our community and the world!
