On Tuesday, November 8, we encourage the campus community to celebrate the success of first-generation college students, faculty, and staff any and every way possible. Since 2018, TLU has been an officially recognized First-Gen Forward Institution for Commitment to First-Generation Student Success. On this day, TLU's First-Generation Student Leadership Team will celebrate the achievements of fellow Bulldogs who are also the first in their family to attend college. With more than half of the student body identifying as first generation, this day is very special event or the our campus.
Join TLU in advancing a national narrative on first-generation student experiences and outcomes as we use this day to encourage campus communities to better understand the systemic barriers plaguing higher education and the supports necessary for this important and resilient population to continue thriving.
