AN AMERICAN PORTRAIT

Ryan Garner, trumpet & Rebecca Wilt, piano

Dr. Ryan Gardner and Ms. Rebecca Wilt will be performing "An American Portrait" - a recital to include selections by Eric Ewazen, Amy Beach, and George Gershwin, among others.

This performance is free and open to the public.

Ryan Gardner is the Associate Professor of Trumpet at the University of Colorado Boulder. Originally from Santa Monica, California, Gardner received his B.M. from the Eastman School of Music, his M.M. Degree from Rice University, and his D.M.A. from the Manhattan School of Music. Dr. Gardner is active as an orchestral performer and teacher.

Gardner serves as Artist Coordinator for Music for Autism and was named their 2010 Spotlight Artist of Year Award. He is a Bach Performing Artist and Clinician and has recorded with Naxos, Mark Records, and BX Entertainment.

Rebecca Wilt has received national and international recognition as a virtuoso collaborative pianist and coach. She has worked with many of the world’s prominent wind instrument performers, as well as some of the country’s foremost vocalists, and has performed in many of the world’s greatest venues in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Ms. Wilt has performed in collaboration with members of the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony, the National Symphony, the Atlanta Symphony, the Chicago Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Currently the music director for opera workshop at the University of Delaware, and the event director of the 2020 LA Trumpet Summit, she is also on the summer faculty for the Center for Advanced Musical Studies in Enfield, New Hampshire, and has been a vocal coach at the AIMS opera festival in Graz, Austria, as well as appearing as guest artist at various festivals all over the world.
