CHIHUAHUA, Chihuahua – The Texas Lutheran University football team is in Chihuahua, Mexico for three days to play the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua in an exhibition game Thursday evening.
The exhibition is set for an 8 p.m. central start time Thursday at Estadio Olimpico, a new stadium in the city that holds 21,000 spectators.
TLU will provide a game webcast of Thursday`s action.
Per NCAA regulations, the international game allowed the Bulldogs, under first-year head coach Dennis Parker, to practice 10 days in pads prior to the international exhibition. TLU’s practices for the exhibition started on May 11.
The Bulldog contingent made the trip to Chihuahua in the wee hours of Wednesday morning and arrived in time for a parade through the city and a rally at a nearby plaza.
The TLU pep band and two buses of football parents have also made the trip. Fifty-four Bulldog players are suiting up for the football game against the Eagles of Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua.
The Bulldogs and their fans will return to Seguin on Friday.
