Essence Women’s Choir Performance
November 20, 2016 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM | Location: Chapel of The Abiding Presence
The Essence Women’s Choir is comprised of women from all walks of life who love to sing together. They are singers who are friends, former students, colleagues, and family of Laurie Jenschke, instructor at the TLU School of Music Community Music Academy. Other TLU associated performers include, Dr. Carla McElhaney, associate professor of music, Rev. Kara Stewart, TLU campus minister, Wendy Gustafson, TLU graduate of sacred music and accompanist for the TLU CMA, Lynda Taylor, executive assistant to the TLU CMA, Gayle Morris, former organ instructor at TLU School of music, and Rhonda Ester, Marisol Busskohl, and Val-Lori Scipio, all parents of TLU students. Joining them will be singers from Fredericksburg and Austin.
They will be performing Opera and Broadway choruses, ensembles, trios, duets and solos. They will be accompanied by accomplished pianist, Dr. Carla McElhaney, who is the co-founder of Revel of Austin. There will be an opportunity for concert attendees to donate to a freewill offering at the door that will go toward TLU campus ministries.
The concert is being underwritten by a generous grant from the Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance of Fredericksburg.
