Black History Month 2023

TLU honors the accomplishments and impact the African American community has had on our world as we celebrate Black History Month 2023. As a campus, celebrating Black History Month helps foster diversity by promoting Black Student Union-sponsored events and creating additional opportunities for students to learn the true meaning behind the month and the history of African Americans.

Feb 1: Black is Community

Open House Presentation
Location: African American Studies Center

Join Black Student Union for an open house of the African American Studies Center. There will also be a special presentation by Dr. Bisha’s class.

Feb. 3: Black is @TLU

Location: The doghouse (next to Alumni Student Center)
Time: 12-1 p.m.
We will all as a community meet up and put our handprint and name on doghouse and mingle with our fellow black students at TLU

Feb. 6: Black is Delicious

A Valentine's party and potluck where students will highlight and celebrate their blackness.
