SEGUIN – The Center for Professional Development at Texas Lutheran University will offer for the first time a comprehensive 50-hour EKG Technician Certification Program. Students will acquire the knowledge and skills to function as EKG technicians and to take the American Society of Phlebotomy Technician (ASPT) – Electrocardiograph (EKG) Technician exam in addition to other national certification exams. EKG technicians work in physician offices, hospitals, clinics, and other health care facilities and organizations. According to the US Department of Labor, “Employment of cardiovascular technologists and technicians is expected to increase by 26 percent through the year 2016, much faster than the average for all occupations.”
Classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6-9:30 p.m., from May 19 until July 7. The $999 fee includes texts and materials.
