SEGUIN – The Center for Professional Development at Texas Lutheran University in partnership with Condensed Curriculum International, Inc. is offering five health care professional certification training programs: Dental Assisting, EKG Technician, Medical Billing and Coding, Pharmacy Technician, and Phlebotomy Technician.
Despite a sluggish economy, the demand for healthcare professionals has grown significantly and created new job opportunities. Available to both working adults interested in a new career and current health care professionals, these programs will help students prepare for the numerous jobs available to health care staff and professionals.
These programs teach the skills required to fill desperately needed health care job openings and create entry level job opportunities for individuals by getting them ”a foot in the door" through low cost, short term training. Instructor-led programs taught by practicing health care professionals include lecture, classroom exercises, and hands-on labs with equipment, tools, and other items to simulate a “real world” professional experience.
One of these programs may be for you if you seek entry level employment, short-term inexpensive training, career development, review, cross training, skill upgrade, or certification test preparation.
Courses are held in the evenings twice a week and range from 50 to 100 hours and from $999 to $1,799. Complete information, including the schedules for 2009, is at

Several programs are approved for WIA funding for eligible Texas Worksource clients. Two loan programs are available.
