Admissions Events
Group Visits to TLU
- Counselor Visit Day (for counselors & advisors): Our Counselor Visit Day will be held in Fall 2026.
- TLU Preview (for everyone): Our TLU Preview Events will be held in October 2026, November 2026, and March 2027.
- Bulldog Bound (for admitted students): Our Bulldog Bound Events will be held in February 2027 and April 2027.
- Bulldogs on the Move (for transfer students): Our Bulldogs on the Move Events will be held in Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027.
The TLU Office of Admissions welcomes educators and sponsors to request the opportunity to bring students to visit our campus. Campus visits for high school groups are hosted upon availability of admissions and institutional resources.
Visits are hosted Tuesdays through Thursdays with an arrival time of 9:50 a.m. Please allow 2 hours for the visit, which will include a campus tour (led by TLU students) and an admissions presentation for students and chaperones.

Students may apply for admission through the TLU Application, Common Application, or ApplyTexas.
No, it is free to apply to TLU as long as you graduate from a high school in the United States. There is an application fee of $100 for international students.
Yes! If your student gains admission as a full-time first-year student, they will automatically receive an academic scholarship ranging from $18,000 to $28,000 per year. Additional scholarships are listed below.
- SAT/ACT Awards | $1,000 to $3,000 per year
- Performing Arts Awards | Up to $7,500 per year for majors | Up to $3,000 per year for non-majors
- Legacy Award | $1,000 per year
- Lutheran Advantage | $1,000 per year
- Lutheran Clergy Award | $1,000 per year

Students can access their personalized application checklist on their Student Status Page at apply.tlu.edu/mystatus to regularly view their progress through the application and enrollment process.
Once we receive the completed application and all required documents, students can expect an admissions decision within two weeks.
If a student does not receive notification within two weeks, their application may be under review by our Admissions Committee, they are missing documents (transcript or essay), or the application was never received.
Students should log in and check their Student Status Page for an admissions decision. Students who are admitted will also receive a TLU acceptance packet in the mail.
No. TLU has always used a holistic review process for applications; therefore, students are not required to submit SAT and/or ACT scores when applying.
However, scholarships are available for students who submit qualifying test scores.
- 1400 SAT or 31 ACT or above | $3,000
- 1300 SAT or 28 ACT or above | $2,000
- 1100 SAT or 22 ACT or above | $1,000
Yes. Students should send official transcript(s) from every institution attended for dual credit along with any AP or IB exam scores for their credit to transfer to TLU. For more information, please visit our transfer credit page.
Yes. The $400 enrollment deposit indicates the student’s intention to enroll at TLU. It is only refundable once the student graduates from TLU.
Final, official transcripts must be sent directly from the school either electronically through a third-party system (TREx, Parchment, etc.) or by mail. Final transcripts that are sent by email or contain IP’s will not be accepted or considered official.
