Applying as a Graduate Student

Our graduate programs have different admissions criteria and requirements, application deadlines, term starts, and costs. Please refer to each graduate program’s web page for details on admissions criteria, deadlines, and costs.

The graduate program you are interested in determines what application form you will fill out. For example, students applying for TLU’s Master of Arts in Education, the Master of Business Administration, or the EdD program will use the Graduate Student Application. However, if a student is applying to TLU’s master’s program in Athletic Training, they will use the Athletic Training Centralized Application System (ATCAS).

Master of Athletic Training (MAT): This program has two entry paths for applicants:

Current TLU Students: Traditional college freshmen can earn concurrent degrees in five years – a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Athletic Training upon graduation. Current TLU students have a different application process (see link above for current students).

Direct Entry Students: Students who already hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university can apply directly to the MAT program as a graduate student.

Anyone interested in TLU’s MAT program must complete their application using the Athletic Training Centralized Application System (ATCAS) and not the Graduate Student Application.

Master of Business Administration (MBA): The 100% online MBA is designed for working professionals who want to develop as well-rounded business leaders with a broad skill set, including leadership, management, marketing, finance, accounting, and strategic planning.

Master of Arts in Education: The Master of Arts in Education is 100% online and can be completed in as few as 12 months. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and be a certified teacher at the start of the program. Use the Graduate Application link on this page to apply.

Doctor of Education in Interdisciplinary Leadership (EdD): TLU’s online Ed.D. in Interdisciplinary Leadership offers two concentrations – Organizational Leadership and Educational Leadership. The program is designed for professionals who hold a master’s degree. To apply, the following requirements need to be met:

  • Master’s degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Official transcript from a regionally accredited master’s program.
  • Resume or curriculum vitae.
  • Personal statement that addresses why you are applying to the program. You may also include an idea for a dissertation topic if you have developed one.
  • Writing sample (can be from a previous program)

Direct Entry Students: Applicants who already hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university may apply for admission to the MAcy program. If the applicant’s bachelor’s degree is not equivalent to a B.B.A. in accounting, the applicant must complete certain additional courses. In some circumstances, other courses may be necessary to meet CPA exam eligibility requirements.
