Shannon Ivey is a producer, writer, director, and educator serving as Division of the Arts Chair and Professor of Dramatic Media at Texas Lutheran University, and as CEO/founder of Theatre For Change, a 501(c)(3) linking social justice to film and theatre. Her most recent film, “Ruth,” has earned international recognition, including Best Original Screenplay (Florence Film Festival), Official Selection (Cannes International Film Festival), Best Short (Big Apple Film Festival), Best Woman Filmmaker (Los Angeles Independent Film Festival), and Best Short Film and a Remy Award (WorldFest-Houston), among others. At TLU since 2010, Ivey has received the Harold D. Bier Teaching Award and the Faculty Servant Leader of the Year honor. She holds an MFA in Acting from UC Irvine and a double BA in Theatre & Journalism from the University of the Incarnate Word.
