The TLU Student Nurses Association had a great time helping a group of young trick-or-treaters get into the Halloween spirit at Navarro Intermediate School’s trunk-or-treat event on October 28. Nursing students donned their TLU uniforms and decorated their own trunk station to hand out candy to the kids—plus perhaps plant a few seeds of inspiration among parents of potential future Bulldogs.

The TLU New Braunfels SNA prioritizes education and professional development, but also emphasizes community engagement and volunteerism.

“I believe it is so important to get these students out in the community and establish our presence in Central Texas,” said TLU Clinical Professor of Nursing Dr. Elizabeth Garcia. “These students are caring for their community inside and outside the hospital and they serve as role models for tomorrow’s future generation. What better way to do it than with servant leadership!”
