The nomination period for the Outstanding Young Alumni Award will open in Fall 2026. The Outstanding Young Alumni Award will be presented at the Winter Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, December 19, 2026.
In the meantime, please prepare a letter of recommendation and any supporting materials for your nominee, including how the nominee meets the award criteria, and submit them to alumni@tlu.edu once nominations open.
Below is the criteria for TLU’s Alumni Awards.
Distinguished Alumni
This annual award is given to alumni who have excelled in their careers or through their commitment to community service. They exemplify what it means to be a TLU Bulldog, serving as role models for other alumni and current students.
Typically, recipients have graduated 20 years prior to receiving this honor. Current faculty and staff are eligible if they are a TLU graduate. A maximum of two awards are given each year.
The Distinguished Alumni Award recipient will be celebrated at Spring Commencement each year.
Outstanding Young Alumni
This award is given to individuals who have graduated within the last 10 years or less, recognizing their outstanding civic engagement or accomplishments as a young alumnus. Their professional, personal, and service-related achievements are an inspiration to peers and current students. A maximum of one award is given each year.
The Outstanding Young Alumni Award recipient will be celebrated at Winter Commencement each year.
