For the eighth consecutive year, Texas Lutheran University is one of the nation’s great colleges to work for according to a survey by ModernThink. The Great Colleges to Work For® survey is one of the largest and most respected workplace recognition programs in the country. Now in its 12th year, it recognizes the colleges that get top ratings from their employees regarding workplace practices and policies.
Of the 236 institutions that participated, 85 were recognized as a 2019 “Great College to Work For” and only 42 were selected for the Honor Roll, including TLU. Results are reported for small, medium, and large institutions, with TLU included among the small universities with 2,999 students or fewer.
As the nation’s premier source of news about colleges and universities, ModernThink recognizes the outstanding workplace and innovative educational experiences of the institutions selected in the Great Colleges program.
This year, TLU won honors in eight categories including Collaborative Governance, Confidence in Senior Leadership, Professional/Career Development Programs, Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship, Teaching Environment (Faculty Only), and Tenure Clarity and Process (Faculty Only/4-year Only), Respect and Appreciation, and Job Satisfaction.
“Our campus community has again acknowledged that this is a special place that allows for meaningful work, a collegial environment, and the ability to be part of a larger mission and purpose,” said TLU President Dr. Debbie Cottrell. “Faculty and staff contribute directly to serving our students well, and also contribute directly to the environment that makes TLU an excellent academic institution. Being recognized again in 2019 is something for which we can all be proud.”
