TLU’s chapter of Water to Thrive and the Center For Servant Leadership will be hosting their 12th Annual Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction on April 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in downtown Seguin. Water to Thrive is a nonprofit organization that builds clean water wells in rural Ethiopia and Sierra Leon. TLU has had a relationship with Water to Thrive for twelve years, and has successfully built eight wells in Africa. It costs $5,000 to build one well and each one serves about 500 people within the region.
The benefit will celebrate the Ethiopian culture with a traditional Ethiopian dish and presentation. There will also be a silent auction with items provided by local businesses.
There are several ways to contribute, including monetary donations, contributing a silent auction item, and purchasing a ticket to the benefit.
