Frequently Asked Questions - Housing
-
Why has the decision been made to have only one person per room?
In an effort to provide students with campus housing in the safest environment possible, we have decided that one person per room would be best as it will limit risks of exposure within a living situation.
-
If I am part of the Fall 2020, Fall 2019, Spring 2020 class, do I need to do anything?
Students who had applied for housing in April/May were asked to reapply for housing by Monday, July 6, as options changed from doubles to singles. For questions or concerns, please email reslife@tlu.edu.
-
What options are available and for whom? How will you decide who goes where?
Freshman housing options will be Baldus, Clifton, Trinity, Centennial, Knutson, and Hahn. Sophomores and other approved students will reside in Seguin Hall and the apartments. All assignments will be coordinated by the Residence Life Office. We will do our best to accommodate requests, but we will have some limitations.
-
I am a junior or senior and signed up for housing in April during housing selection, will I be able to live on campus?
Unfortunately, we will not have enough space to house all students who have requested housing this year due to limited space.
Our Residence Life team has been in contact with apartments in the Seguin and New Braunfels area to get more information about leasing availability and terms, pricing, and amenities. They've compiled this information sheet for TLU students.
-
Will there be an extra cost to living on campus since all rooms will be single rooms?
No, we will not increase the cost of housing. All options will be charged at the double room rate.
-
Can I cancel my housing application if I decide to move off-campus?
Your initial housing application submitted in April/May has already been cancelled for you as part of the consolidation of housing space leading to single occupancy. If you complete a new application, the cancellation date will be July 13 and any cancellation after that time will be subject to the cancellation terms and agreement in the application.
-
How will bathrooms be cleaned and disinfected?
In Centennial Hall, Seguin Hall, Hahn Hall, and Knutson Hall community bathrooms will be cleaned by our university custodial staff. The apartments will continue to be the responsibility of the two assigned residents. Suites in Seguin Hall will also be the responsibility of the residents.
-
If I live in a suite, will you provide me the name of the other suitemates?
Yes, if you email reslife@tlu.edu we will provide you the names of your suitemates.
