Campus Visit Programs
We believe we have a responsibility to institute proactive health and safety measures to decrease the spread and potential exposure of COVID-19. At this time, we are hosting virtual visit events, and we're hopeful we will be able to host individual visitors on campus beginning in August. We have not made a decision about our on-campus visit programs, such as TLU Preview and Bulldog Bound, at this time.
We are excited to offer live, interactive, 20-minute virtual visit events Monday-Friday at 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for prospective students and admitted students. We also offer virtual visit events on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Fridays at 2:00 p.m. for transfer students.
Our virtual visits include presentations tailored for students who just want to know more about TLU, students who’ve already been admitted to TLU, or students who are interested in transferring to TLU. Throughout the presentation, you can interact with an admissions representative through the chat feature. We are live on every session, ready to answer all of your questions!
TLU Preview: Visit Program for All High School & Transfer Students
TLU Preview is held in the fall and spring to provide prospective students and transfer students with a social and interactive visit experience. You will join other prospective students for a campus tour, information sessions, forums with professors and current students, and information about majors and programs in your area of interest. TLU Previews are open to all prospective students and their families and are typically held in October, November, and March.
Bulldog Bound: Visit Program for Admitted Students
Bulldog Bound is a special admissions visit program for admitted students in the spring. We offer two Bulldog Bound programs, typically in February and April.
A Virtual Visit Event Just For Transfer Students
Prospective transfer students are invited to join us for an exclusive virtual event for students interested in transferring to TLU. No matter if you are just starting the search process, have submitted an application, or have been admitted to TLU, the transfer process is unique, and we want to give you the opportunity to hear from the transfer experts, our transfer students! During this session, TLU students will share their experience as a transfer student and also answer your unique questions.
Dates: June 24 and July 28, 2020
An Event for Students Who Are Enrolling in the Fall
In July, we host Bulldog Basics for students who have been accepted and have paid their enrollment deposit. At Bulldog Basics, we have staff from Admissions, the Registrar's office, Student Financial Services, and Student Accounts review everything students need to know and do before move-in day.
We also introduce the summer Freshman Experience (FREX) project. Students and their families enjoy lunch on campus and may attend optional afternoon sessions for various academic programs as well as information on academic advising, athletics, dining services, and campus safety. Bulldog Basics is optional and there are two sessions to choose from.
Dates: July 10 & 24 (Virtual)
Virtual Performing Arts Scholarship Auditions (Music and Theatre)
The TLU Performing Arts Scholarship Auditions are for students who are interested in auditioning for a performing arts scholarship award. This event is open to students who plan to major in music or dramatic media as well as non-majors. Music and Theatre scholarships range from up to $5,000 a year for majors and up to $3,000 a year for non-majors (on top of any academic scholarship awarded).
If you are interested in doing a virtual music audition, please contact TLU School of Music Director Doug Boyer. For virtual dramatic media auditions, contact Dramatic Media Department Chair Dave Legore.
Summer Program: TLU Pre-Professional Health Boot Camp
The Pre-Professional Health Boot Camp is a program focused on discovering the keys to success in a variety of health care fields through hands-on experiences. The program focuses on exploring a different field such as biology, chemistry, physics, athletic training, and nursing. You will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of science experiments on campus, as well as in our state of the art nursing simulation labs.
Summer Program: STEM@TLU - A Day for Aspiring Young Women
This is a day for young high school women who want to use their energy, ideas, & intelligence to make impactful changes in the world around them.
If you are interested in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics and want to know more about a future in STEM, come and spend the day with us. This day will be an exciting and engaging event with hands-on labs and experiments, a panel of speakers representing women in STEM, lunch, and science demonstrations.
Young women who are still deciding their academic interests are welcome too! STEM@TLU is a great way to explore different career paths and connect and learn from successful and inspiring women in STEM fields.
