Application Data Analyst

Texas Lutheran University invites applications for an Application Data Analyst. The Application Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring student data is processed and tracked appropriately and accurately for undergraduate, transfer, and graduate students. The application data analyst works with the senior data analyst and inquiry/marketing lead analyst to upload and manage the prospect/inquiry/applicant data in Slate, TLU’s CRM. The analyst also uses document imaging software to scan, upload, and attach documents to an applicant’s admissions file.

Responsibilities include:

  • Knowledge of admissions operations and cycles for traditional freshman students, transfer students, non-traditional students, and graduate students.
  • Responsible for importing application data from ApplyTexas and the Common Application, and reviewing submitted TLU (Slate) applications. Able to recognize inconsistencies in high school graduation year, date of birth, and other key pieces of information to correct and/or consolidate student records.
  • First-line troubleshooting for application import and document issues.
  • Processes applicant documents received electronically through Parchment and other sources as well as hard copies. Understands required documents for various application types.
  • Proactively reviews and audits Slate data and continuously acts to correct data irregularities and errors to maintain a high level of data integrity.
  • Regularly communicates and collaborates with the associate director for admissions information systems regarding Slate administration and quality control.
  • Creates and edits Slate queries as appropriate.
  • Scans and links documents received by various sources such as, but not limited to, USPS, fax, applicant email box, and/or hand-delivered to office.
  • Sends preliminary emails or phones applicants with follow-up questions if needed. Processing of email correspondence to the applicant email box.
  • Decision processing that includes determining the appropriate letters to send regarding the admissions decision; ensuring that accepted applicants are processed (mailing of acceptance packet), releasing decisions (admits/denials).
  • Processes the application file through the withdrawal, cancellation, or deposit cancel processes, and any appeal decisions.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains organization records within Slate and Jenzabar.
  • Assists with the annual updating of all forms needed for the application process.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Slate source formats for data imports.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma is required with additional advanced training and/or technological experience preferred.
  • Three-to-five years of experience working in databases, preferably in an Admissions office.
  • Knowledge of Slate (CRM) and ImageNow (document scanning/management software) a plus.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and student-first philosophy.
  • Excellent time management skills; must be a self-starter.
  • Ability to work as a team but also understand priorities, work independently, and complete tasks.
