Texas Lutheran University is seeking applicants for an Associate Director of Annual Giving. This full-time position reports to the Director of Annual Giving and will provide a full range of moderate to complex work assignments in support of Annual Giving. This position also interacts with and supports a wide range of staff, faculty, students, parents, alumni, and donors. Duties require active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates and executes initiatives within Annual Giving with little supervision. Primary programs include: Day of Giving, Crowdfunding, Student Philanthropy, Parent Giving and Student Calling.
  • Day of Giving. Works with the DOG committee to solicit and select initiatives for Day of Giving. Sets up the DOG page with a third-party vendor. Solicits information from project leads to use on the DOG page (photos, videos, project description/quotes).

Manages donor participation/giving challenges. Oversees communication plan across all platforms. Coordinates with Director of Development Services for gift information updates and sharing. All other duties to implement Day of Giving.

  • Crowdfunding - Works with project leaders to set up pages on the website with a third party. Solicits information including photos, videos, descriptions, etc. Coordinate with Director of Development Services for gift information exchange. All other duties as needed to execute Crowdfunding programs.
  • Student Calling- Work with third party vendor to select dates for student calling. Recruit and train student callers. Provide segment lists to third party for calling. Monitor results and trouble shoot when needed. Manage all aspects of the student-calling program including personal oversight of the calling manager and calling on select days.
  • Student Philanthropy - Implement a student philanthropy program utilizing data from best practices or research to instill a sense of giving back to our current students.
  • Parent Giving - Execute a parent giving program utilizing data from best practices and research to impact parents of current students and alumni to give to TLU.
  • Must support the mission and strategic plan of Texas Lutheran University.

Job requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Previous experience in annual giving or development is preferred
  • Strong skills in organization, human relations, and communications
  • Ability to work with diversity of alumni groups, ages, and interests
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter
  • Ability to effectively work with and manage others
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
