Associate Director of Alumni Relations

Texas Lutheran University is seeking applicants for an Associate Director of Alumni Relations. This position will report to the Director of Alumni Relations and will assist in managing and coordinating activities to engage TLU alumni through in-person and virtual events, social media, and alumni programs. This is a full-time position with some evening and weekend hours. Travel is required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assists Director of Alumni Relations with coordination, arrangements, and management of specifically assigned homecoming, fundraising, and alumni events.
    • Coordinates all Regional Alumni Events
    • Manage all home tailgate events
    • Admissions/Alumni events
    • Ring Ceremony
  • Coordinate monthly alumni e-newsletter, the Victory Bell to include photos, content, alum notes and editing.
  • Assists in identifying alumni volunteers to host, organize, and promote local events.
  • Management of TLU Alumni Association Social Media accounts
  • Maintains database for tracking events, attendance records, event costs, revenue generation, and writes an annual report of recommendations for enhancement.
  • Develops and distributes pre-event information to the advancement officers, vice president, and event volunteer organizers that includes a list of anticipated participants, overview of program details, and any special details.
  • Works with the Director of Corporate Relations and Career Development on a networking event coordinating alumni and logistics.
  • Works within budget parameters and manages Alumni Relations budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Previous experience as an employee or volunteer in events planning is preferred.
  • Strong skills in organization, human relations, and communications
  • Ability to work with diversity of alumni groups, ages, and interests
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter
  • Ability to effectively work with and manage others
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Must support the mission and strategic plan of Texas Lutheran University
