The Texas Lutheran University School of Music invites you to bring your entire choir or members of your choir to experience a day of great singing with other children and youth choir members from across Texas. These experienced clinicians will bring new ideas to your teaching repertoire and fun and excellent choral music education to your participating choir members.
As a director, you will have the opportunity to talk with the Mr. Chilcott, getting to hear his success story and some time tested tips and ideas to help make a successful choral program. Topics like recruitment, fund-raising, travel, repertoire, discipline, creating a beautiful choral sound, commissioning a new choral work, and parental support and participation will be covered.
We invite treble singers in the fourth grade through high school to attend this workshop.
The cost of the day-long singing event is $15.00 per child which covers the cost of the venue, clinicians, lunch and snacks. Directors fees are $15.00 for the event and chaperones are $10.00 which covers the cost for lunch. The event is going to take place at the campus of Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas in Jackson Auditorium. You can find the map of the campus at the TLU website. The day of rehearsing together will culminate in a joint concert at 4:00 p.m. in Jackson Auditorium. Friend, family and the public are invited to attend.
If you want to bring your entire choir, we invite you to sing one-two songs during our final concert. Our space is limited to 240 singers so the earlier you register, the better. Singers should wear their choir shirts or school shirts for the day along with blue jeans and tennis shoes. Each choir should bring one chaperone for every five students that you bring. There must be a representative chaperone in attendance of all rehearsals.
