Ed Whitacre Lecture
General Motors Chairman Ed Whitacre presented a lecture about the automobile industry and the global economy at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10 in Jackson Auditorium.
Since July 10, Whitacre has taken on one of the largest turn-around challenges in U.S. history with the government-appointed chairmanship of GM, even appearing in the new GM television commercials.
Previously, Whitacre was chairman of the board and chief executive officer of AT&T, the world’s largest communication company, and reshaped the telecommunications landscape in the process.
Following his retirement in 2007, Whitacre served TLU as Executive Professor of Business in Residence, lending his practical business experience and insights to TLU’s business majors and serving as one of the professors for the legendary business policy class.
