Alumni Board hosts Summit |

On Saturday June 27, the Alumni Board hosted the first annual TLU Alumni and Advocate Summit on campus. Summit attendees included members of the Alumni Board of Directors, President's Advocates, Area Chapter Presidents and other strong supporters and friends of TLU.
Participants learned more about Texas Lutheran University and shared ideas that will help it advance its mission with even greater depth and focus. The group brainstormed ways to preserve history and tradition at TLU; discussed how volunteers for the university can assist and host admissions events, alumni events, community service projects, and development events; recruited a few attendees to be our first chapter presidents in Austin and Houston; and confirmed that being a volunteer is the best way to raise awareness about TLU in our communities.
The attendees held a “silent conversation” and with markers in hand, highlighted their key points of interest at TLU as well as how to preserve and grow its traditions and symbols. Participants also shared happy memories of their time at TLU and are dedicated to helping the university reach new levels of distinction. Among the accomplishments of the day, the group created a slogan - SPIRIT LIVES HERE - defining our strong spirit in faith and in Texas Lutheran!
