Back to top PAUL DIRKSMEYER, an ELCA pastor and currently a U.S. Military Chaplain stationed at Fort Hood, ministers to the families of those deployed from Fort Hood to Iraq and Afghanistan. He was on the TLU campus in March, speaking to students and sharing meaningful aspects of his ministry.
LEE ANN SCHILLING HARTMAN received a 2008 Award for Outstanding Teachers from the University of Texas alumni association, the Texas Exes. Lee Ann teaches German at LaGrange High School.
ANDY JACOBS has been teaching world history in Columbus for 15 years. He is also coaching cross country and track. Andy and his wife, Susie, have four daughters who are 22, 20 and twins who are 16.
DR. DANIEL “DANNY” SALINAS lives in Roswell, Ga. with his wife, Cindy, and their sons Mark and Steven. Danny is a board certified pediatrician and is senior vice president and chief medical officer at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
MICHAEL WINN, vice chairman of the Austin Area Heritage Council, received an award for his work in the community and for hosting the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration.
Back to top On April 13, 2007, DARYL CHESTER completed the Ford Ironman Arizona. An Ironman is a race consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile run. Daryl finished the Ironman competition 722 out of 2040.

Kennedy International School (JFK). Dallas teaches and is technology director for JFK. Dawn teaches second grade at the Berlin International School.
GLENN SHUCK co-authored the book Escape into the Future: Cultural Pessimism and its Religious Dimensions in Contemporary American Popular Culture. He is an assistant professor of religion at Williams College in Williamstown, Mass.

Back to top ROBIN WILSON and her husband, GARY GOODSON, are currently serving in the Peace Corps in Turkmenistan. Robin is working in a hospital teaching pregnant women about nutrition. She finds it a challenge to teach in Turkmen but the Peace Corps has provided many bilingual resources which aid in lesson planning. When it gets warmer she will do home visits with doctors, teach health in schools and kindergartens, and start English clubs for her co-workers and children in the community. Gary is working at the language center doing private tutoring and clubs. He is looking forward to helping improve teachers’ and students’ English ability. They will return in the winter of 2009.
