Orientation will begin with a lunch for all new transfers and non-traditional students. Students will have the opportunity to meet other new students, spend time with current students who have successfully transferred to TLU, and visit with staff. Lunch is free if you have pre-registered. After lunch, there will be an optional campus tour. Highlights from the lunch include: Official TLU Welcome - Dr. John Masterson, executive vice-president and provost and the admissions office will be among the first to welcome you to TLU.

Who’s Who on Campus? - Meet key individuals who will help make your transition to TLU a much smoother one. Knowing a name and face on campus can definitely help when you need assistance. Staff from the registrar’s office, career services, study abroad, academic support services, campus recreation, the business office, financial aid, and information technology will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Optional Campus Tours - The Admission Advocates will be giving optional tours to transfers and their families after the conclusion of the lunch.

Here is your chance to learn more about what there is to do outside of the classroom, including social and service clubs, campus recreation, campus ministry, and Greek life. Presented by Charla Bailey, director of international education, and Ginger Taylor, director of student activities.
Straight A’s – How to Be Successful in the College Academic Environment Tschoepe Hall 131 - The academic environment at TLU is intensive. Lisa Cradit, director of academic support, will give you tips on how to excel in the classroom.
The First in the Family to Go To College – First-Generation College Students Roundtable Tschoepe Hall 251 - Here is a chance for first-generation college students to get together, learn from each other, and find ways to be successful here at TLU. Facilitated by Dr. Maria Avalos, associate dean of student life and learning.
First Taste of Freedom – Balancing All that TLU has to Offer Tschoepe Hall 128 - There are only 24 hours in a college student’s day and yet with classes, studying, athletics, involvement activities, a social life, and grabbing a bite to eat, sometimes it just doesn’t feel like enough time. Terry Weers, the campus counselor, will explain how you can balance all of your activities.
The Center for Servant Leadership and Campus Ministry Tschoepe Hall 250 - The Jon and Sandra Moline Center for Servant Leadership is the place to go to get involved in leadership, service, and spirituality in your new community. Ron Quiros, director of the Center for Servant Leadership, will introduce you to the many leadership and service opportunities available on campus. Pastor Greg Ronning will introduce you to the worship life on campus and the many programs and opportunities in campus ministry.
Understanding Financial Aid Tschoepe Hall 245 - Our director of financial aid, Cathleen Wright, will answer questions about your financial aid package and tell you about on-campus work study positions that are available.
Living Healthy at College Tschoepe Hall 127 - Representatives from campus dining and Debbie Roberts, director of campus recreation, will discuss the best way to stay healthy during your first year.
I’m an Undecided Student – What Should I Major In? Tschoepe Hall 252 - So you knew that college was for you, but you aren’t sure what to major in? This session will explain how to stay on track while you are figuring out your major.
