Parent and Student Panel Memorial Gym (Upper Gym) - Listen to other parents explain how they survived their child’s first year at TLU and the tips that they learned from the experience. Students will also be present to answer questions.
The First in the Family to Go To College – How to Support Your First-Generation College Student Jones Complex, Classroom #102 - In this session, Dr. Maria Avalos, associate dean of student life and learning will chat with families on how to best support their first generation college student, especially during the critical first semester. Dr. Avalos will also explain all of the support services that TLU offers first generation college students.
Academic Advising and Academic Expectations Fitness Center Classroom #101 - Lisa Cradit, director of academic support, and two members of our faculty will discuss faculty expectations in the college classroom, touch on the roles of academic advisors, explain the academic support services available to students, and answer any questions you may have.

Cathleen Wright, director of financial aid, and Bridget Lawrence, student account manager, will offer information to make both processes as easy as possible and answer your questions.
