As technology is constantly evolving, TLU strives to maintain the most current infrastructure to support the academic and social lives of our students. At TLU you will find:
Networking:
- Wireless access in most academic buildings and common areas of residence halls
- 25 megabits/sec Internet connection
- Fiber optic infrastructure to all campus buildings
- Hardwire network access in all TLU buildings
- Dedicated hardwired connection "per pillow" in the residence halls (100megabits)
- 1 gigabit/second network backbone in place
Computer Labs:
- 24-hour accessible computer lab / Internet cafe in the Alumni Student Center (ASC)
- 12 additional instructional or specialized computer labs across campus
- Free laser printing for students in computer labs
Software:
- Microsoft XP-SP2 on campus desktops
- Microsoft Office Professional software tools
- Microsoft Exchange e-mail system for faculty / staff / students
- Access to Adobe Creative Suite, Maple, Minitab, SPSS software
- Free copy of McAfee anti-virus for all TLU students
Servers:
- Microsoft Active Directory - 2003
- Microsoft 2000/2003 servers, Red Hat Linux, and Sun Solaris platforms
- 150 megabytes of network file space per student
- 100 megabytes of e-mail space per student (effective 2/1/07)
Other:
- CATV system (80 channels) available in residence hall rooms
- Student computer help available (no additional cost) at the Help Desk in the ASC
- Web access to student academic history / registration (Irislink)
