Team schedules
Schedules, scores, and information pertaining to Intramural events can be checked on the Intramural Bulletin Board, located in the ASC across from the computer lab or in the Fitness Center. A schedule will be campus mailed to the team manager. Games will be played starting at 4 p.m.
Forfeit Policy
Game time is forfeit time! The game will be forfeited if a team does not have enough players to play at the scheduled game time. If you know you cannot play contact the IM director by noon on game day. It will be recorded as a loss. A team may do this only once.
Protest
A protest concerning the eligibility of a player or a rule interpretation are the ONLY protest situations. An official’s judgement cannot be protested. An eligibility protest must occur before the game starts or at the time of the rule misinterpretation and be resolved before play continues.
Rain outs
Decision will be made by 3 p.m. If the weather deteriorates during a game it is the Supervisor’s decision to call the game.
Eligibility
- Texas Lutheran University students, faculty and staff and their spouses are eligible to participate in intramural sports.
- Dependants or guests are not eligible to participate.
- Varsity/JV athletes and red shirts may not participate in the same intramural sport that they play.
- Former varsity players may play the year following their last season of play. A limit of two former varsity/JV players per roster.
- A player must be on the roster to play and cannot be on 2 rosters.
- All players must present their TLU ID or activity card (spouses) to play in a game.
The Game, Players and Equipment
The Game
- Game duration – Games are 30 minutes – two 15-minute halves, running clock with a 5-minute half time.
- The field is 100 X 50.
- No off-sides
- No slide tackles
- No throw-ins, kick-ins only
- All Kicks are indirect except corner kicks
- Any foul in the Penalty box is a Penalty kick
- No goal keeper punts, they may put the ball on the ground and kick it
- Teams must have at least 2 women on the field at all times, including the goal keeper
- Women’s goals score 2 points; men’s goals score 1 point!
- No overtime for tie games until playoffs. If needed in playoffs, the overtime will be a 3-person shoot out (at least one female). Each goal in a shoot out will score one point
Players
- The Players – The game shall be played between 2 teams of 7 players. Five players are required to start or continue play.
- Substitutions – Free substitutions from center of sideline.
- Persons Subject to the Rules – Team representatives including: players, substitutes, replaced players, coaches, fans, and other persons associated with the team are subject to the rules of the game and shall be governed by decisions of officials assigned to the game.
Equipment
- Jewelry – Players are prohibited from wearing jewelry. Players must remove jewelry before playing. Players wearing jewelry may be called out, and/or removed from the game.
- The ball – Size 5 game balls will be provided by the Intramural staff.
- Footwear – Shoes must be worn at all times. Shoes must be closed toe (no sandals). Only smooth pliable or hard rubber cleats are allowed. No screw-in cleats or metal spikes of any kind are allowed.
- Shin Guards – Shin guards must be worn by all players, NO EXCEPTIONS!
