Counseling Services

To assist students with changing environments, changing situations, stressful relationships, as well as other concerns and problems, TLU offers counseling services through a fully trained counselor. Conversations are confidential and referrals to community professionals are possible. The counselor's office is located in the Meadows Center of the Alumni Student Center and is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The phone number is 830-372-8009.

The university maintains a team approach to care and counseling. The student life and learning staff, the campus nurse and the dean of student life and learning are available for care and conversation; the campus pastor offers pastoral care; a licensed professional counselor provides confidential individual psychotherapy. Students also have the opportunity to be referred to other sources for specific counseling needs.

Disciplinary counseling and subsequent actions/referrals are the responsibility of the office of the associate provost and dean of students. The university publishes a student handbook each year that contains important regulations, procedures and guidelines that relate to student conduct. All students receive a copy and are expected to become knowledgeable with its contents.
