NEWSLETTER EDITOR  TLU's History/Geography department is looking for a sophomore, junior or senior student to design layout for departmental newletter (text and photographs); edit and copy; edit text and produce a pdf file.  Familiarity and experience with "Indesign", pdfs and good working skills are required.  Design experience and the ability to network through Facebook are desired.  Hours per week varies.  Pay is $6.55/hour.  For more information, contact Dr. Angie Sauer at ext. 6081 or asauer@tlu.edu.

EDEN PLACE APARTMENTS – INTERNET COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST INTERN  Must qualify for Federal Work-Study  This position will successfully assist the marketing and leasing efforts for Eden Place Apartments.  The student will be required to teach internet classes and internet hands-on instruction to senior residents age 60 and over who reside at Eden Place Apartments.  Eden Place is located at 1220 Jefferson Avenue, just one block south of TLU.  Pay is $6.55/hour.  Please contact Ray Stahl at 0850sc@ncr.org or (830) 303-4445 for more information.  Contact the Office of Financial aid for a referral form.

AMERICA READS  Must qualify for Federal Work-Study A mentor/tutor is a special type of volunteer, in this collaboration....a paid volunteer as he/she participates in the federal work-study program.  This person is committed to helping an elementary school student in the Seguin ISD - academically, socially, mentally, and physically - expending their time and energy to help the young person as a role model and friend.  Students applying for this job should have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.  Pay is $9.00/hour.  For more information, please contact Monica at (830) 401-8616.  Contact the Office of Financial Aid for a referral form.

STUDENT ASSISTANT The Center for Servant Leadership is looking for a student worker to organize and coordinate service opportunities for students and student groups; facilitate processing of service opportunities among participants; and develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with community organizations.  Required qualifications include: previous experience in coordinating activities/events (service oriented or otherwise); understanding the intersections of systems of oppression and injustice, including but not limited to racism, sexism, heterosexism, classism, imperialism and environmental destruction.  Previous experience organizing service opportunities and the ability to prioritize relationships over tasks while also accomplishing tasks is desired.  Attention to details, follow-through and listening skills are also required.  Pay is $10.00/hour. BALL PERSON - Men's & Women's Soccer  TLU Soccer is looking for students willing to work home games to collect balls off the field and gt them back into play.  There are 10 home games and you must be willing to work at least 5 games.  Game dates and times are as follows:

Sunday, September 14th         1 p.m. - 3 p.m.           
Saturday, September 27th       4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

EDITOR, THEOLOGY/PHILOSOPHY REVIEW – Student needed to oversee the overall production of the Theology/Philosophy Review and ensure that its content and design maintain a high level of quality.  Other duties include: coordinate planning for each issue, solicit articles from potential contributors, make photo/graphic assignments as needed, maintain story budget, work with the Publishing Services Office on establishing copy, printing, and delivery deadlines, etc.  Job requirements include strong writing and editing skills, including knowledge of the University of Chicago style of documentation, ease with computer software programs, ability to perform in a leadership role working cooperatively with faculty advisors, the editorial board and other members of the department as well as the ability to set and meet deadlines.  The position is for one academic year and is paid on an hourly basis as a student assistant in the Department of Theology and Philosophy.  Other skills being equal, preference is given to theology and philosophy majors.  For more information, contact Dr. Schneider at cschneider@tlu.edu, 247 Langner Hall or at ext. 8080.  To apply, send a letter to Dr. Schneider explaining your qualifications for the position.
