NEWSLETTER EDITOR – TLU's History/Geography department is looking for a sophomore, junior or senior student to design layout for departmental newletter (text and photographs); edit and copy; edit text and produce a pdf file. Familiarity and experience with "Indesign", pdfs and good working skills are required. Design experience and the ability to network through Facebook are desired. Hours per week varies. EDEN PLACE APARTMENTS – INTERNET COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST INTERN – Must qualify for Federal Work-Study This position will successfully assist the marketing and leasing efforts for Eden Place Apartments. The student will be required to teach internet classes and internet hands-on instruction to senior residents age 60 and over who reside at Eden Place Apartments. AMERICA READS – Must qualify for Federal Work-Study – A mentor/tutor is a special type of volunteer, in this collaboration....a paid volunteer as he/she participates in the federal work-study program. This person is committed to helping an elementary school student in the Seguin ISD - academically, socially, mentally, and physically - expending their time and energy to help the young person as a role model and friend. STUDENT ASSISTANT– The Center for Servant Leadership is looking for a student worker to organize and coordinate service opportunities for students and student groups; facilitate processing of service opportunities among participants; and develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with community organizations. Required qualifications include: previous experience in coordinating activities/events (service oriented or otherwise); understanding the intersections of systems of oppression and injustice, including but not limited to racism, sexism, heterosexism, classism, imperialism and environmental destruction. Previous experience organizing service opportunities and the ability to prioritize relationships over tasks while also accomplishing tasks is desired. Attention to details, follow-through and listening skills are also required. Pay is $10.00/hour.
